GREEN BAY, Wis. (May 13, 2025) – The TUNDRA Super Late Model Series opener this Saturday at Wisconsin International Raceway will host a field full of contenders in the Bear 96 Presented by Great Lakes Testing.
This season’s stop at WIR will host the biggest pay day in series history as the winner of the 96-lap event will take home a $6,000 top prize. The event has extended into a three-day affair with a free pit party on Thursday, a full racing program on the quarter-mile on Friday, and the capstone event on Saturday.
Among some of the expected entrants are former TUNDRA Champions Ty Fredrickson, Casey Johnson, and Dalton Zehr. All three have won the TUNDRA event in the past. Fredrickson won in his first visit to the half-mile last year. Johnson won back-to-back in 2021 and 2022. Zehr won TUNDRA’s first stop at WIR in 2014.
Other former TUNDRA winners are littered in the field as well – they include Jordan Thiel, Sawyer Effertz, Gabe Sommers, Wyatt Brooks, and Tristan Swanson.
Several veteran racers with past success at WIR will look to make their first trip to Victory Lane in TUNDRA’s richest race. Among them are Andy Monday, Bobby Kendall, Maxwell Schultz, Jeremy Lepak, Lowell Bennett, and Brock Heinrich.
A solid mix of young up-and-coming drivers will be joining in as well. They include Jevin Guralski, Cody Vanderloop, Penn Sauter, Kody King, and JJ Vanderloop.
TUNDRA will be joined by the Pro Late Models for the Alburetor 28 presented by Baril Engine Rebuilding. The race honors the late Al Golueke who passed away this offseason. Qualifying is at 1pm. Racing begins at 2pm.
Friday’s event features the WIR ¼-Mile Late Models, Street Stocks, Wisconsin Sport Trucks, and Sizzlin’ 4s. Racing begins at 6:30pm.
